Player & Parent Expectations

Attendance requirements and commitment level.

At YYTFC, we expect all players to be fully committed to their team, attending all scheduled practices, games, and team events. Consistency is key to developing skills and ensuring team success.

Practice Commitment: Players are expected to attend all scheduled practices unless excused.

Game Day Attendance: All players must be present and arrive on time for warm-ups.

Excused Absences: If a player must miss practice or a game, parents must notify the coach in advance.

Consequences for Excessive Absences: Missing multiple practices or games may affect playing time or eligibility.

Why It Matters: Football is a team sport, and every player’s presence contributes to the team’s growth, strategy, and success.

Sportsmanship, Teamwork & Respect Policies

YYTFC is dedicated to building strong character, discipline, and respect in every athlete. Players, coaches, and parents are expected to uphold the highest level of sportsmanship at all times.

  • Respect for Coaches & Teammates: Players must listen to their coaches, follow instructions, and support their teammates.
  • Positive Attitude: Encouragement and good sportsmanship are expected, win or lose.
  • Zero Tolerance for Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Any disrespectful behavior (trash-talking, fighting, arguing with refs) may result in disciplinary action.
  • Team-First Mentality: Football is about working together—selfish play or bad attitudes will not be tolerated.

Our goal: To create a positive, competitive, and respectful environment where all players can learn, grow, and excel.

Expectations for Parents at Games & Practices

Parents play a vital role in their child’s football experience. We ask all parents to lead by example and follow these guidelines:

  • Encourage & Support: Cheer positively and respect the coaches’ decisions.
  • Sideline Conduct: No coaching from the sidelines—let the coaches do their job.
  • Respect Officials & Opponents: No arguing with referees, opposing teams, or other parents.
  • Be Punctual: Ensure your child arrives on time for practices and games.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up with team updates, schedules, and team meetings.

By working together, we create a strong football community that supports player growth and sportsmanship!

• Players are trained to lead with their shoulders, keep their heads up, and wrap properly when tackling.

Hydration & Heat Safety

• Players are required to drink water before, during, and after practices and games.

• Frequent water breaks are built into practice schedules.

• Coaches monitor for heat exhaustion symptoms, especially on hot days.

Equipment & Gear Safety
